About Ryan Whelan

Ryan Whelan, originally from northern England, spent his entire childhood playing sports.  As a child, he was never without a football by his side, later excelling in racket sports, as well as representing his region in cross country running.  His passion for sports performance was honed with a Sports Science and Event Management degree at University. He later trained top professional sports teams and athletes in the UK before moving to Hong Kong in 2010.

Ryan’s energy is devoted to ensuring his clients achieve their personal training goals, whether weight loss, building strength and muscle tone, or working on mobility and flexibility to offset the challenges our aging bodies present to us.

Ryan is also passionate about training youth athletes and believes that sport helps develop valuable leadership skillsets.  His training philosophy is centered on safety and fun, ensuring that young athletes stay motivated for longer-term participation across whatever sport they chose to play.

Ryan always pushes himself to reach new personal sport achievements.  He is currently a member of the Great Britain National Dragonboat team and competed in the World Championships in 2017.
